Remick Smothers was born and raised in Washington, D.C., where he picked up a fly rod in his early teens and never looked back. A former guide on the Potomac River, Chesapeake Bay, and their many tributaries, Remick knows just about everything that swims in the waters of the Mid-Atlantic. While saltwater is his first love, he’s carved out a reputation as a warmwater fly fishing specialist—targeting trophy bass and panfish on the long rod with unmatched precision and enthusiasm.

The youngest son of legendary comedian Dickie Smothers of The Smothers Brothers, Remick brings a rare mix of charisma, storytelling, and deep technical expertise to every trip. With over 20 years on the water, he’s as comfortable chasing tailing redfish on the flats as he is throwing poppers for bass in his backyard. Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a fly rod for the first time, a day on the boat with Remick is equal parts education, excitement, and pure joy.

Trips are run out of a 2020 Boulder Boat Works River Skiff—handbuilt in Colorado and designed for shallow, technical water.
